An ailing, 81-year-old Fidel Castro resigned as Cuba’s president Tuesday after nearly a half-century in power, saying he will not accept a new term when parliament meets Sunday.
The end of Castro’s rule — the longest in the world for a head of government — frees his 76-year-old brother Raul to implement reforms he has hinted at since taking over as acting president when Fidel Castro fell ill in July 2006. President Bush said he hopes the resignation signals the beginning of a democratic transition.
In the pre-dawn hours, most Cubans were unaware of Castro’s message, and Havana’s streets were quiet. It wasn’t until 5 a.m., several hours after Castro’s message was posted on the internet, that official radio began reading the missive to early risers.
By sunrise, most people headed to work in Havana seemed to have heard the news, which they appeared to accept without obvious signs of emotion. There were no tears or smiles as Cubans went about their usual business.
“He will continue to be my commander in chief, he will continue to be my president,” said Miriam, a 50-year-old boat worker waiting for the bus to Havana port. “But I’m not sad because he isn’t leaving, and after 49 years he is finally resting a bit.”
Castro temporarily ceded his powers to his brother on July 31, 2006, when he announced that he had undergone intestinal surgery. Since then, the elder Castro has not been seen in public, appearing only sporadically in official photographs and videotapes and publishing dense essays about mostly international themes as his younger brother has consolidated his rule.

The new situation rises in UK police for providing the security to the son of Benazir Bhutto who is also chairperson of Pakistan peoples party. The security levels will be high as provided to the top peoples in UK. This kind of security really needs heavy financial burden on UK police.
There are blog post seen on internet where the UK residents have raises the concern over using state money to protect Bilawal Zirdari. The bloggers are claiming that the money which will be use on Bilawal is the money which the UK residents have right not him because the burden of texes is on UK residents so why they should bear.
There are hundreds of foreign peoples living in UK who are getting the security facilities from the UK government. Rushdi is an example of it. UK govt is providing him heavy security to protect him. Why this question was not raised for Rushdi at that time?
In the case of Bilawal the UK police may ask Zardari who is the father of Bilwal to contribute in his security expenses. If Zardari will accept the demand of UK police to contribute the expenses then the question will rise from where he will pay the security expenses of his son. There are two options.
1- He pay by himself
2- Pakistan peoples party pay from its funds.
Zardari must like the second option but the third option may rise too if the PPP will form the govt in pakistan in comming election and the option can be created as follow.
3- Government of Pakistan will pay his security expenses.
This will be the best option for Zardari.

I was watching a program on PTV in which an analyst Mr Gohar Hamayun was invited to talk on death consequences of Benazir Bhutto. He talked lot of things but the best sentence i like from his talk was “Nabi Mohammad (peace be upon him) quoted talk good things of your deads and repeat a lot”. I really appreciate Mr Gohar to remind of that valuable and timely hadith.
In other program which right now i am watching some guests are invited who are the friends of late Benazir Bhutto. Mr Ashish Nehra who is Benazir family friend and lawyer also said the benazir Bhutto was a simple personality.
Another couple who seems to be quite good friend of Benazir Bhutto family were recalling their past moments with Benazir Bhutto by saying she was very friendly. She talked to peoples according to the peoples nature and never showed any superiority to others. She always remember to her friends, even if some one send her gift or flowers she used to call immediately and thanks for the compliments.
In my opinion she was a bold lady. She gave a new hope to women in Pakistan and Muslim world. She was courageous lady died in the path of democracy. It is my prayer for her “May Allah rest her in peace thereafter”.

Who assassinated Benazir Bhutto? The question lingers on millions mind. According to the latest official statement of Pakistan government, Bhutto was killed by Alqaeda which the Pakistan peoples party dismissed. The government accusation was based on the call intercepted by the intelligence services of Pakistan in which two persons were talking in Pushto language congratulating each other in disguising words related to killing of Benazir Bhutto. The conversation which were translated by Interior minister of Pakistan is as follow.
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) Asslamo Allaykam (Peace on you)
Baitullah Wallaykam salam (Peace on you too)
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) Congratulation
Baitullah On what
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) We had killed her
Baitullah Who did it
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) Ikramullah Badar and saeed.
Baitullah They were brave guys.
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) I want to see you
Baitullah Ok come to companion home
Maulvi Sahib (Beard Man ) I will tell you the details when i see you.
Baitullah Dont tell them before you see me.
The above translation does not contain any word in which one conclude the Benazir Bhutto was murdered by them. It may link to any other incident. The Alqaeda link was rejected by Benazir Bhutto companions.
On the other hand Alqaeda refused to take this responsibility by saying we do not target the women. It is our policy to not kill women. Our old actions showed that we never attacked on ladies. The Alqaeda statement came from its spokesman residing in Afghanistan.
If we rule out the above accusation of government of Pakistan then again the question still unresolved Who assassinate Benazir Bhutto?
It was a targetted killing. The killers behind Benazir were the same peoples who assassinated her other family members before. Her brothers were killed after the assassination of her father.
There are the elements since 1979 who are against this family. At any cost these elements do not wanted Bhutto family in power or in the politics of Paksitan. These elements were mentioned by Benazir Bhutto too. Now the question arises
Who are those elements?
The USA analysts also pointing out those elements. The word elements is being used sofar. There is a need to translate this word to a noun because elements are actually peoples. These peoples are working thoroughly against peoples party since 1979. These are the peoples who assassinated Bhutto, killed Murtaza Bhutto and Over throw Benazir Bhutto from the premier ship of the country two times in the past. It is a time to unveil those peoples for better Pakistan. These peoples wanted to run the country affairs according to their own choice. Pakistan is being forced to run through the sick minds. Openly speaking here those peoples who are against the Bhutto family thinks that this family is a security risk to the country. The elements are present in establishment of Pakistan too. The elements are enemies of democracy too and working since the independence of Pakistan.

Benazir Bhutto is accusing dead Ziaulhaq companions who are alive. Those alive peoples are also known as jihadis or jihadi establishment. Almost 20 years are over and still Ziaulhaq is dangerous for peoples party.
Normally the politicians gave the statements which are quite vague for an ordinary peoples but those whore are being targeted by those political statements pick their messages well. Recently Benazir wrote a letter to Musharaf regarding the dangerous peoples towards her. She mentioned three names. I dont know about any name but i have a strong guess who is one out of them.
That one is Retired General Hameed Gul. For reference i should mention here about General Hameed Gul. He is former chief of ISI and close companion of Late General Ziaulhaq. During Zia regime he was holding key posts in Army of Pakistan.
Why he is being accused, I dont think he is that dangerous or ill minded person. It is true that last time he was a person who formulated and implemented a plan of IJI and got the desireable results what they needed at that time. Now the situation is change. Benazir should revise her thinking and should see her own deals and policies.
The statements like access to international agencies towards Dr Qadir Khan and some other may be the causes of her life threatening situation. Instead of giving such statements BB should concentrate on democratic pathway which is the highest priority of Pakistan.
