Downplaying apprehensions of an armed conflict with Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said nobody is talking about a war but noted that the situation was worrisome.
Describing the terror strikes in Mumbai as an “attack on India’s ambitions to become an economic power”, he asked the world community to make Pakistan dismantle the “terror machine” existing on its soil.
“The issue is not war. The issue is terror and territory in Pakistan being used to provoke, to aid and abet terrorism.
I think that is the issue, the issue is not war. Nobody wants war,” he told reporters outside Parliament when asked for his comments on the current stand-off with Pakistan in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks.
His comments were clearly aimed at putting to rest the fears of a war, a day after Pakistan Air Force conducted aerial manoeuvres in major cities to demonstrate its preparedness for military conflict.
Without naming Pakistan, Singh told a conclave of over 120 Indian Ambassadors and High Commissioners here that “non-state actors were practising terrorism aided and abetted by state establishments.”
India is seeking peace and stability in its neighbourhood but the situation was “worrisome”, Singh told the first-of-its-kind conference called to apprise envoys on how to present New Delhi’s case across the world in the current scenario.
Referring to terror strikes in Mumbai, he said these were “an attack on the country’s ambitions to emerge as an economic power” but “India would not accept a situation where terrorism is used as an instrument to cripple India’s economy or the values it stands for.”

Real happiness and peace can be found in submitting to the commands of the Creator and the Sustainer of this world. God has said in the Quran:
“Truly, in remembering God do hearts find rest.” (Quran 13:28)
On the other hand, the one who turns away from the Quran will have a life of hardship in this world. God has said:
“But whoever turns away from the Quran{1}he will have a hard life, and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment.” (Quran 20:124)
This may explain why some people commit suicide while they enjoy the material comfort money can buy. For example, look at Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), formerly a famous pop singer who used to earn sometimes more than $150,000 a night. After he converted to Islam, he found true happiness and peace, which he had not found in material success. {2}

Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world’s population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith.
The word “Islam” itself means “Submission to Allah.” The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of “Christianity” which was named after Jesus Christ, “Buddhism” after Gutama Buddha , “Marxism” after Karl Marx, and “Confucianism” after Confucius.

The publishing of cartoons is a shameful act of Dennish publishing press. Dennish government should take a step to stop this unethical and shameful act against the feelings of Muslim. Islam is a religeon of peace and strictly refrain Muslims from acting or behaving against non Muslims. Muslims also expect the same thing from non Muslims. It is a very bad act to disturb others feeling. These kinds of acts leads towards brutal actions. The world is already in a blood shed so it is my humble request to the social societies of the world to respect others feeling. If the acts like happened in Denmark will carry on then the dream of peaceful world cannot be achieved. I again on behalf of apnaavenue.com condemn the cowardly act of Dennish publisher.

Today i have received a letter in my email, It is a humble request of peace from one peace lover.
We all need to pray for one another, and to love one another. We should always pray for the safety, peace, love and brotherhood for people all over the world. Too bad we can’t have an independence day for the entire world. A day of freedom from ignorance, hatred, war, illusions, power and control. A day where we can all love each other as human beings and toss away the weapons of war, and cast out our fears and hatreds from our hearts into the graves. We must mourn the graves of the innocents all over the world, and give the children of the world the hope of a peaceful, loving and beautiful world. A world full of love and without hatred or fear. A world where we can join hands together and accept one
another, regardless of our skin color, ethnic divisions, religion or nationality. If we don’t unite as a human race, then we have condemned the future generation of children a dark and very grim future. Think of love, compassion and peace always… MY PRAYER FOR PEACE AND HARMONY Merciful God, You made all of the people of the world in Your own image and placed before us the pathway of salvation through different Preachers who claimed to have been Your Saints and Prophets. But, the contradictions (made by us) in the interpretation of Your teachings have resulted in creating divisions, faith based hatreds and bloodshed in the world community. Millions of innocent men, women and children have so far been brutally killed by the militants of several religions who have been committing horrifying crimes against humanity and millions more would not be butchered by them in the future, if You guide and help us find ways to reunite peacefully.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL, look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the controversial teachings of arrogance, divisions and hatreds which have badly infected our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; reunite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish Your purposes on earth; that, in Your good time, all nations and races could jointly serve You in justice, peace and harmony. (Amen)

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. a man who struggled for peace, justice and civil rights. Yet just a few days ago passed the 5th anniversary of Guantanamo, where detainees are being held indefinitely on suspicion of terrorism and are stripped the right to challenge their imprisonment. The Bush administration has clarified that the basis lies in the Military Tribunals Act, which applies to all immigrants arrested in the US. Young boys are being held with no rights, no education and are being separated from their families for the first time in their lives. To those of us citizens who cherish a free and open political life, once called democracy, think again about the millions of people this is affecting. It makes little sense to violate our own standards, values and human rights that we have been championing for decades while we demand that every one else respects [...]
