Actress Masumeh Makhija’s career hasn’t fared well in Bollywood since her debut in Chupke Se, but she has bagged international films and is happy flaunting them.

Having already worked in a German film, she is ready to star in a yet-to-be titled Italian venture.

“My films are not crossovers but genuine European films. I have been doing international films. I have already done a German film with Veit Helmer titled Gate to Heaven that even got pulled up for the European Awards. Now I’ll be doing an Italian film with Matteo Morazzo. The shooting will start next year,” Masumeh said.

She refused to reveal any further details on her international project as “the deal is still in talks”.

Gate to Heaven was a little tough for Masumeh because she had to speak German in the movie.

“Speaking German was really difficult for me. However, I speak Spanish so I guess Italian will be easier.”

In 2004, Masumeh debuted with Chupke Se that bombed at the box office. Since then she has been seen in films like Maqbool as Pankaj Kapur’s daughter, Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, Woh Lamhe and Dus Kahaniyaan.

Her upcoming Bollywood project is Shona Urvashi’s Saas, Bahu Aur Sensex, which is releasing on September 12. It’s Hollywood studio Warner Bros’ first Indian venture.

Describing her role in the film, she said: “My character is called Kirti. She is a girl who would do anything for money as money makes her world go round. She would con people to extract money to buy herself Gucci and Prada bags.

“The film shows the urbanisation of India. The film provides great comedy space for me.”

Saas, Bahu Aur Sensex, about women and Sensex, is a parody on the unpredictability of everyone who watches daily soaps.

The actress appreciates Konkona Sen-Sharma’s growth in filmdom.

“I admire Konkona’s career graph a lot. She has really shaped up her career well with unconventional films and climbed up the ladder.”

Not many people know that Masumeh is a fitness freak and has been principally trained in Kathak and belly dancing.

Apart from Saas Bahu…, Masumeh will also be seen in Sanjay Gupta’s Alibaug as an alcoholic who is sent to a rehabilitation centre.

 Bollywood new comer Hansika showed that she is a true professional when even after being persuaded by the film crew to take a break due to a minor injury she participated in the shooting and by doing this she saved the time effort and lakhs of rupees of the film’s producer. Hansika is currently shooting for a film titled Maska in Hyderabad met with an accident near to the Banjara hills while on her way to the shooting location. She escaped with only a minor hand injury.

She was taken to the hospital and released within an hour. Everyone among the film’s unit members thought that the shoot will be cancelled due to the situation of leading lady but to their surprise Hansika appeared on the sets thought a little bit late and started her work. Maska is produced under the banner of Suman Arts and the hero of the film is Raam.

 Did Madhubala’s ghost visit Mallika Sherawat? The plot thickens just before the release of Ratan Jain’s Maan Gaye Mughall e Azam and the crew of Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam revealed that while taking a break a stunned Mallika suddenly stepped out of her vanity van looking completely dazed & on being asked the reason for her perplexed look the actress revealed that she had seen a vision of yesteryear actress Madhubala in the van.

A unit member said Mallika was too stunned to react! She told us that she saw a ghost of Madhubala. It may sound unbelievable but these happen and theres no logic behind it. It could be Mallika’s imagination too because she imagines herself as Madhubala who had performed the song Jab pyar kiya to darna kya song. Mallika was shooting for the spoof of Jab pyar kiya to darna kya when this incident occured on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam. The song Jab pyar kiya to darna kya originally from Mughal-E-Azam was picturised on the immortal beauty Madhubala. She played courtesan who falls in love with Prince Salim and is shown being buried alive in the film.

WWE Batista and MVP recently filmed commercials for the FYE entertainment stores. The commercials will air in certain Northeastern markets. The Batista one is already airing here in Albany- NY and wwe will be holding a free event from 11AM-5PM PT on the beach in Venice, CA on 8/9 to promote Summer slam. Mr. Kennedy Carlito, The Miz, Candice Michelle Tommy Dreamer and John Morrison will all be there. The event will feature matches and giveaways According to TNA’s website, the main event for the Hard Justice PPV on 8/10 will be Samoa Joe vs. Booker T for the TNA Title in a Six Sides of Steel Cage match next week’s FCW TV taping will feature appearances by Kane, MVP and Mickie James and I am off to the Saratoga horse racing track for the afternoon and evening followed by ESPN Friday Night Fights tonight in Saratoga as well. Yash Raj films confidence in a new director who proved himself as a good writer with ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2′ and a star cast with the likes of Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor can be understood  The old production house gave a great promotion to ‘Tashaan’. They were quite successful in building an aura of mystery surrounding their new film by not letting out the content of the film and adding a lot of style and attitude in the looks of the stars. The news that the real life couple Saif and Kareena got hooked with each other during the film’s shooting also made the film a much talked and anticipated one before its release.  The old and experienced production house’s belief in ‘Tashaan’ was such that they even were ready to rewrite the rules of sharing with the exhibitors that was followed till this day in the B-Town. The multiplex owners didn’t accept the condition of the sharing only 45% of the total collections in the first week put forth by Yash Raj. No changes were made as Yash Raj stuck to their decisions. As a result the film got released only in single screen theatres and going by the not that good reviews that the film is getting from the critics and the audience, the collections picking up in the subsequent weeks is a distant dream. If Yash Raj films had without introducing any new sharing figures released the movie in multiplexes after coming into a mutual understanding with the theatre owners, leave the question of satisfying the critics and the general public, at least the majority percentage of the film’s production cost would have got covered with a good number of people able to see the movie in the first week itself. If the film had good stuff inside to catapult itself into a super duper hit, the Yashraj films could have now hosted a party to celebrate not only the victory of the film but also the triumph of their confidence and calculations.

Ever since the release of Heyy Babyy, there have been speculations abound about Sajid Khan’s next film. Some media reports indicated a sequel in the offering while a section announced Sajid to be coming up with an action thriller. Contrary to all the stories making the rounds, reality is something else. The fact is that Sajid has already started working on the script of his next film which is going to be yet another family entertainer with comedy as its base. The film will have Sajid and Milap Zaveri writing the script with Sajid Nadiadwala as the producer. “Deep inside my heart, it was always a thriller that I wanted to make next. But around a week back, Milap came to me with a script idea which I couldn’t resist translating on screen. It has a kind of subject to which you cannot say no. Hence, I have kept my action thriller on the backburner for the moment and rather concentrating on developing this script which is going to be light hearted yet again”, explains Sajid. What makes him rope in another writer for his new film? “I have always believed that writing is a team work. Also, you cannot be a sole writer of a film as well as its director. Collaboration is a key word when it comes to getting the ideas flowing,” elaborates Sajid about his sense of film making. Drawing parallels with Hollywood, he further informs, “I am not comparing myself to these great directors but even Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese or Alfred Hitchcock have directed films on the stories written by a different writer. Directing is a focused activity and I better be very good in that. Also, I have to leave the baggage of being a director who has delivered a superhit with his very first film. Isn’t that difficult? “No point basking in your glory. Also, I shouldn’t be acting smart or believing in myself to be a different person after a success. If that was the case, I wouldn’t have gone back to television and host shows. I am happy to be grounded and be the same old Sajid”, he says modestly. By making yet another family oriented film, isn’t he restricting his genres? “That’s not something which I am thinking of at the moment. People want to watch a good film and this is what I promise to them. I am not even claiming that I am embarking on making a great film.

The dhak dhak girl of Bollywood is proud of her comeback movie ‘Aaja Nachle’ and isn’t afraid of failures. She confesses that her latest movie is woman-centric, and there is no hero in it, but contests the remark that she is the movie’s hero. However, in the same breath she admits, “I’m the female protagonist”. When told that the movie was written keeping her profile in view she quips, “The thought made my legs shake and (believe it) not because I was dancing”. Initially, she was hesitant to say yes to film director Aditya Chopra as she wondered if the viewers would like to watch her. Since he looked at her very strangely and said, “Don’t worry about that” she heaved a sigh of relief. What’s the theme of her movie? She gives her mind and says, “Every time I visit Mumbai I find it more westernized. However, I wish them to imbibe the best of foreign influences but without losing our culture? In the US, we see families more Indian than in India”, she continues with a heavy heart, perhaps. Is the movie trying to give this message? Yes, ‘Aaja Nachle’ addresses this question. But, without preaching

How could she manage to dance so well in the movie? Was she practicing in the US? She says that she had no time to spare for dance in the US as she was first carrying and later caring for her children. So, she was afraid of disappointing her fans as she had not come on the screen since her ‘Devdas’. But, the response from the media as well as the viewers has been quite encouraging, she adds. Then, how did she dance non-stop in ‘Aaja Nachle’? The ever-smiling actress is amused and says, “It just comes naturally to me. Besides, ‘Aaja Nachle’ I had to warn my fan-cum-choreographer Vaibhavi not to feel nervous of me and do her job.” How come she turned social to dance with her co-stars in this movie? “All my co-stars comprising Vinay Pathak, Kunal Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan - are wonderful actors. I had watched a bit of their work. Soon, we were laughing and having a ball.”

Incidentally, Madhuri’s comeback has prompted Boney Kapoor to encourage his wife Sridevi to follow in the footsteps of Madhuri, her one time rival in the industry. When Boney asked has confirmed Sridevi’s comeback soon. Boney, however, doesn’t find Madhuri as rival to his wife. After all, his brother Anil Kapoor has done his best movies with Madhuri and was known as the hit pair of that time. Interestingly, another Kapoor Ranbir son of Rishi Kapoor who began career with his recently released ‘Saawariyaan’ has said that he been a fan of Madhuri since he was aged six. He considers Madhuri as his idol. Ranbir is too excited with the comeback of Madhuri on the screen.

Another great news for Madhuri’s fans is that she is going to sign another movie under the banner of Yashraj Films. She has already seen the script and very soon though early next year she might start shooting of the new movie. But, Madhuri has made it very clear that she would shoot only during her children’s vacation.
