U.S. govt. disagrees with Gitmo decision
WASHINGTON: The White House said it opposed with a court decision that five Algerians in custody nearly seven years at the US military jail at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba must be released, but was pleased that another Algerian was avowed as an enemy fighter.
“We disagree with the court’s decision that we did not take our load of evidence with admiration to the other detainees,” White House spokesman Tony Fratto said.
He said the Justice section was reviewing the decision on the five Algerians.
“This ruling does reveal the need for assembly to ratify procedures that permit these petitions to be adjudicated in a way that is pale to the prisoner but that allows the administration to present its case without put in danger national security,” Fratto said.
