President Asif Zardari telephoned PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif Wednesday to express his muscular discontent over sharing of photographs of Governor Salman Taseer and his family members by Punjab Law Minister to the media, our sources has learnt.

According to highly placed sources, President Zardari told Nawaz that those unbearable plans could jeopardise the alliance. Zardari plainly conveyed to the PML-N chief that the Punjab governor was the candidate of the PPP and he completely owned him.

Sources said Zardari demanded strict action against the accountable, asking him to make sure such things didn’t happen again. The sources said another significant political character in the center ministry also phoned Nawaz a strong-worded warning.

He is learnt to have told Nawaz that the work against the governor could be joint in similar manner as the tapes and videos clips containing lighter moments of scions of the Sharif family could also be produced to show that they were involved in wicked activities.

Sources said Nawaz was told the CM knew the act of PML-N minister Rana Sanaullah who opened a face book containing very personal photographs of Governor Salman Taseer and his family, and even made efforts to get these published in some dailies.

Nawaz was told that the two-year old photographs had nothing to do with the Governor’s House. The sources stated the minister released the photographs to the media after Taseer wrote to the Punjab government threatening them to work according to rules and regulations.

The governor is said to have directed the local government to hold the cupboard meeting, which had not been convened for the last three months. Moreover, he had also directed them to sign up the prosecutor general which was unfavorably affecting the judicial work.

In another letter, the governor had warned the provincial government not to pester doctors. Meanwhile, PML-N senior leaders Wednesday expressed irritation over the political statements concerning personal affairs from some PML-N leaders, directed them to bring to an end issuing such statements.

It has been learnt that PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif have also expressed displeasure over the political statements regarding personal life and have issued directions to party leaders to take on principled posture and keep away from such statements. It was said that Nawaz Sharif also discussed this matter with PML-N Punjab President Zulfiqar Khosa and other leaders at Raiwind (Jaati Umra) and directed them not to issue statements against the Punjab governor.

Punjab chief minister, who is on a visit to China, also expressed his displeasure over these political statements. The PML-N leadership is of the view that concentration be paid to decree of people’s problems, instead of issuing statements, he said.
