Influential EarthQuake In Taiwan
TAIPEI: Taiwan establishment have said that a commanding earthquake has struck the southeastern part of the island.
There have been no instantaneous reports of damages or injuries from the Tuesday morning quake.
Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau said the magnitude 6.0 quake struck just offshore, near a sparsely populated area about 20 miles (30 kilometers) north of the city of Taidung.
However, the U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 5.2.
Buildings shook in Taipei, about 90 miles (150 kilometers) to the northwest of the epicenter.
