Set max is doing what none of Indian channel dared to think. Mixing non-cricketing personalities with the legends of cricket to discuss the game in front of the Indian people, who term cricket as religion, was a tough task to initiate.
Since the World Cup 2003, Mandira Bedi’s arrival on the small screen to discuss the game was really surprising.
This was like a neo-glamorization of already glamoured game. The pre and post match discussion became as important as the in-between time of the whole telecast.
Bhupendra Chaubey has put a question under his post It’s just not cricket that is there any need of non-cricketing person to have a talk with former cricketers on cricketing tips?
He writes as
I see a lot of people making sure that they just see the pre match and post match analysis, the cricketing action be damned. I heard Tony Greig telling Mandira Bedi, Hey Mandira, that outfit you are wearing is the mest outfit I have ever seen on any Indian woman.
You can also be assured of hearing something or the other about her looks, her apperances from everyone who is a part of the panel. It might lighetn up things, sure, add up to the TRPs as well, but what about cricket?
